★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 36 reviews · from $60Our pick

Start at Wadi Rum Village for a four-hour small-group trip through the protected desert. Ride in a jeep, take a 40-minute camel ride, sandboard on the dunes, and visit the Nabatean temple, Lawrence’s Spring, Little Bridge, and Khazali Canyon. Water, tea, and coffee are included, but private transport is not.

“Pretty decent value. Good variety of activities considering the length of the tour. The other people in the group were doing a longer tour and I was allowed to join them for lunch free of charge. I recommend trying out sandboarding, eventhough it's a bit cumbersome when the sand is dry.”

2.Full Day Tour Lunch Sand boarding Camel Ride Sunset

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 30 reviews · 4 hours - 1 day · from $44

Spend up to eight hours exploring Wadi Rum with an English-speaking Bedouin guide such as Ahmed or Fahrid. Ride a 4x4 to Lawrence Spring, red dunes, Khazali Canyon, rock arches, and desert viewpoints. Lunch, tea, water, sandboarding, a canyon walk, and an optional camel ride are included according to your booking choice.

“Fun day in wadi rum! Got to see lots of incredible sites. Guide was nice and friendly but didn’t provide much explanation about the sites we visited. Sand boarding was super fun but only possible to do for moderate to high fitness levels as you need to climb up very steep sand dunes with no assistance (much harder than we anticipated). Actual tour was good, however, the tour company seemed to have very poor organisation. The tour says it includes lunch but the operator told us it didn’t, they also changed the time from what we booked. Would still recommend but felt a bit slightly overpriced for what it was.”

Spend 9 to 12 hours exploring UNESCO-listed Wadi Rum in an open-air 4x4 with an English-speaking Bedouin guide. You will visit up to 12 desert sites, ride a camel if selected, sandboard, eat lunch, drink tea, and watch sunset. Driver Ahmed is one named guide associated with this experience.

“This experience was truly amazing and our driver Ahmed was fun. However, when you book this tour, be aware that you’re gonna do a lot of hiking. It’s not really a tour – the driver brings you to different locations in the desert but leaves you to explore by yourself, which can be either great or unpleasant, depending on what type of traveller you are. The tour itself is a bit overpriced, given your guide really just drives you to places and doesn’t do much else (and the lunch is very minimal), but the experience is still wonderful mostly because of all the sights you get to indulge in. Leave Wadi Rum Village by jeep, then ride a camel for about an hour with a Bedouin guide. Mamdouh leads in English or Arabic, with tea and water at Al Ramal Red Sand Dune. Pickup is available from camps in the protected area, and the group is limited to five.

Merci encore.”

You’ll ride a calm camel through Wadi Rum’s Valley of the Moon with an English- or Arabic-speaking guide, a short animal-handling briefing, bottled water, and Bedouin tea. The small group is limited to four people. Choose the shorter sunset option for striking desert views, or allow the full day for a longer visit.

“The 4x4 ride out to the site and back was fun. The camels were really calm and clear instructions were given on how to get on/off. It was a really good experience to be travelling through the desert the traditional way.”
